Industrial Robots & Collaborative Robot (Cobot) Integration
Industrial Control Systems, Inc. (ICS) integrates industrial robots and collaborative robots (cobots) into manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and worker safety. We handle the complete robotics implementation including application assessment, robot selection, end-of-arm tooling design, programming, safety system design, and integration with your existing automation infrastructure.
Industrial Robots vs. Cobots
Traditional industrial robots are high-speed, high-payload machines that operate inside safety fencing, separate from human workers. They are ideal for applications requiring maximum speed and reach, such as palletizing, welding, and material handling of heavy products. Collaborative robots (cobots) are designed to work safely alongside people without full safety fencing, using force-limiting technology and rounded designs. Cobots are ideal for applications where flexibility, quick changeover, and human-robot collaboration are priorities, such as machine tending, pick-and-place, quality inspection, and packaging.
Robotic Applications We Implement
ICS integrates robots for palletizing and depalletizing (cases, bags, pails, drums), case packing and carton erecting, machine tending (CNC loading, press feeding, injection molding), pick-and-place and sorting, material handling and conveyor transfers, welding (MIG, TIG, spot), dispensing and adhesive application, assembly operations, and quality inspection and testing. We design the complete robotic cell including conveyors, fixtures, safety systems, and operator interfaces.
Robot Brands We Work With
ICS programs and integrates robots from FANUC, ABB, Universal Robots (cobots), Yaskawa Motoman, KUKA, and Doosan Robotics (cobots). We select the right robot for your specific payload, reach, speed, and environmental requirements. Our engineers are factory-trained on multiple platforms and can integrate robots from different manufacturers into a unified control system.
Safety System Design
Every robotic installation requires a thorough risk assessment and appropriate safety measures. ICS designs safety systems compliant with ANSI/RIA 15.06, ISO 10218, and ISO/TS 15066 (for cobots). Our safety designs include safety-rated PLCs (GuardLogix, safety relays), light curtains, area scanners, safety mats, interlocked fencing, and emergency stop systems. We conduct risk assessments before and after installation to verify compliance.
